Front of Mind is made by Adapt Studio. This page says what it stores, where, and why.
The Mac app
Your timer, tasks and time entries are stored on your Mac. The app talks to Linear directly to read your issues and write your time and notes back to them. It doesn't watch what you do: no screenshots, no app or website tracking. To notice when you've stepped away, it reads only how long since the last key press or mouse movement.
Your Linear connection
When you connect with Linear, Linear gives the app an access token. It's kept only in your Mac's Keychain, and the app refreshes it as needed. (If you paste a personal API key instead, that is kept in the Keychain too.) Front of Mind asks Linear for:
- read: to list your issues, projects, statuses and teammates, and search the workspace;
- write: to add your Time tracked card to issues, post your session notes as comments, and make the edits you choose in the app (status, project, title, description and other fields, new issues and projects).
Everything it writes is done as you, and only when you take an action or pause the timer. Disconnect in the app, or revoke access in Linear → Settings → Account → Security & access, at any time.
Pro: team reports
If you sign in for Pro, your app also sends your finished sessions to our server so your team can see them:
- your Linear name, email, user id and whether you're a workspace admin;
- your workspace's name and id;
- for each session: the issue (id, key, title, link, project), start and end time, and your note.
Everyone in your Linear workspace who signs in to the dashboard can see this, the same way they can see the time cards on Linear issues. Signing in with Linear only reads your profile; we don't keep the Linear token.
Payments
Stripe handles payments. We store your Stripe customer and subscription ids, never card details.
Deleting your data
Sign out of Pro in the app to stop sending time. To delete what's on the server, email support@keepfrontofmind.com and we'll remove it.
